Diesel Mechanic & Generator Technician at Accredilec working in the PetroChemical Industry
The Generator Technician will be responsible for everything as per your trade qualification, i.e. maintain, inspect, and repair generators and related equipment to ensure their efficient and safe operation. This will involve troubleshooting, testing, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic components and systems. You must also be able to work from blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and manuals to identify and correct defects in generators and related equipment.
Your safety and that of others is a top priority. You must adhere to safety regulations at all times. You must be able to work independently or as part of a team. You must have a valid driver's licence.
This position also requires excellent customer service skills, as the Generator Technician is often the first point of contact for customers who are experiencing difficulties with their generators. You are to be physically and mentally fit to perform a wide range of activities such as climbing, bending, stooping, and kneeling. You have to pass a medical examination on an annual basis in order to perform your duties at Accredilec. All work you do must comply with SANS regulations for South Africa as well as OHS Act 85 of 1993 at all times.
