Diesel Mechanic (Durban)

Duties:Receive the workshop job card and check its content for accuracy and understandingAttend office hours & after-hour breakdownsJob cards sign offEnsure all parts and oils used on the job are booked to job cardPerform all maintenance services in accordance with manufacturers specifications and the maintenance schedule/maintenance computerPerform all visual inspections, calibration work, adjustments etc.Identify deviations, irregularities and unusual wear and tear and give feedback to Workshop ForemanInspect disassembled and dismantled parts and replace them with new or reconditioned partsReturn parts (old/unusable parts) and document the work carried outCompare the current state of the vehicle with common production configurations and evaluate its technical conditionPerform final checks on the vehicle being repaired, and that the vehicle is roadworthy and functionally reliableEnsure dress code is in accordance with company Standard Operating ProceduresMaintain housekeeping standards dailyEnsure standards of Health and Safety are maintained Requirements:Grade 12Trade tested Commercial Vehicle Diesel TechnicianValid Code C (10) or EC (14) drivers licenseMinimum of 3 years post trade test experience Remuneration:R25000 negotiable
