We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Die Manager to join our Aluminium Extrusion team.
As the Die Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our extrusion dies, ensuring efficient production and high-quality aluminium profiles.
Main Responsibilities : Die Maintenance and Correction: Read and interpret section drawings and die design drawings.
Analyze and correct existing extrusion dies to meet customer specifications and requirements.
Inspect new dies for conformance to design and specifications.
Production Support: Organize and run extrusion trials for new and modified dies.
Assist press operators in setting up and troubleshooting problem dies.
Quality & Efficiency: Manage the nitriding schedule for dies to optimize performance and lifespan.
Monitor press schedules and ensure timely completion of orders for problem and late dies.
Provide feedback to die manufacturers on improvement opportunities to enhance die performance.
Safety & Organization: Implement and maintain good housekeeping practices within the die shop.
Ensure adherence to all safety regulations in the workplace.
Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications: Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent Engineering background (advantageous) Minimum of 3 years' experience as a qualified Die Corrector in Aluminium extrusion process Strong ability to read, understand and interpret technical drawings (section and die designs) Proficient in using die correcting tools and operating a milling machine Experience working with measuring equipment Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to safety and a clean work environment
