Jackpersad & Partners are the largest independent Radiology Group in KZN providing advanced radiological imaging.
We are looking for a professional and competent Radiographer (MRI Specialist) for our Mt Edgecombe Venue, based at Life Mt Edgecombe Hospital. The Radiographer will utilise imaging equipment for radiographic examinations, providing direct care and high-quality diagnostic imaging service to the radiologists, patients, and referring doctors.
The ideal candidate must meet the following requirements:
Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a Diagnostic Radiographer
National Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography/ B-Tech in Radiography
MRI qualification with minimum of 3-5 years experience
HPCSA Registered (Independent Practice)
Ensure achievement of CPD
Ability to work during weekends or at night (when on call)
Ability to travel to cover shifts at other venues within KZN
The physical stamina necessary to stand for long periods of time and lift patients who need help moving
Experience using imaging equipment:
General X-ray
BSU
Screening
Mammography
CT Advanced
MRI
Duties:
Explain procedures to patients and answer all questions
Apply radiological protocols and policies formulated by JPI
Contribute towards student training and continuous professional development
Post process medical images for patients
Deal with demanding and often unpredictable workload
Accuracy and dexterity are needed to position patients and give intravenous injections
Willingness to assist with patient experience within the radiological environment including assisting patients with preparation, checking request forms, completion of pre-procedure forms, positioning of patients for MRI and CT, and assisting with service recording
To apply expert knowledge and safety procedures for contrast administration (including IV)
To adhere strictly to infection control policies and to prevent the spread of infections
To ensure a sterile environment for all radiological procedures
Able to communicate effectively with all staff, patients, and patients' families or other department's staff, including referring Doctors
Be able to communicate and use persuasive skills when dealing with anxious or scared adults or children
Observe and record signs, symptoms and behaviours, including the physiological condition of patients, present the assessment of changes, the proposed revision of interventions, and desired outcomes
Participates in venue and company clinical audits
Assist in ensuring that risk assessments are undertaken to comply with all relevant health and safety regulations including the ionising radiations regulations
