Development Manager (Operations And Stewardship)
Company:

The Independent Schools Council

Details of the offer

Development Manager (Operations and Stewardship) Salary: £41,360-£46,050
Contract: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Our vision at City of London School is to create a nurturing environment where every pupil can thrive and contribute positively to society. CLS has a unique community that reflects the city in which we live and the society our pupils will join when they leave school thanks, in part, to our transformational bursary programme. Nearly 100 pupils are currently attending CLS with the help of a full, transformational bursary and the programme is central to bringing about the values and ethos that define our community.
This year, our alumni, parents and friends donated just over £2 million towards bursaries at CLS, and we are on track to admit 15% of our new year 7 pupils on 110% transformational bursaries by 2025. Our ambition is to increase that to 20% by 2030.
CLS has a dedicated Development and Alumni Engagement team responsible for engaging our Old Citizens and raising funds from the school community to support the School's strategy, and in particular to grow our bursary programme. We are now seeking a Development Manager (Operations and Stewardship) to provide and manage strategic direction for all operations in the office and help to ensure the maximum amount of philanthropic income is raised. This critical role sits at the very heart of the team.
CLS was named by the Sunday Times as London Independent Secondary School of the Year 2020, and occupies fine, modern buildings near St. Paul's Cathedral overlooking the Thames, opposite the Tate Modern. There are impressive off-site sports facilities in south east London.
CLS is fully committed to the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion. We have a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Forum for staff, and another for pupils, which are used to help drive progress forward.
It is a top priority for the School that we both attract and retain a staff body that is not only excellent, but also reflects the London community within which we live, and our diverse pupil body. As such, it is of paramount importance to the School that we acknowledge our current imbalance and seek to rectify this. We are therefore particularly keen to encourage applications from candidates who have African Caribbean, Asian or other Minority Ethnic or mixed heritage. All appointments are merit-based, following a fair, transparent recruitment process. In accordance with the Equality Act 2010, however, the School may employ positive action where diverse candidates demonstrate the ability to perform the role equally well.
City of London School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Further information about the School and a copy of the most recent ISI Inspection report are available on the school website.
Further details and an application form are available from our website (https://www.cityoflondonschool.org.uk/about/vacancies)
Closing date: 29 July at 12pm Interviews will be held on: TBC
