Development Engineer

Job Description:Design and develop products using 3D and 2D CAE toolsEnsure compliance with SOPs and Quality Management System standardsCreate prototypes, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specificationsCollaborate with production teams on prototyping and testingOversee preproduction trials and ensure readiness for handoverOptimize time, resources, and budgets for product developmentConduct material and process research to enhance designsApply APQP tools and support continuous improvement initiativesEnsure adherence to SHEQ policies and resolve workplace hazardsMaintain professional communication with internal and external stakeholdersManage MRP BOMs for planning and costingSafeguard company assets and uphold corporate governance standards Skills & Experience: Strong sense of urgency in task completionExcellent communication skillsHighly self-motivatedCreative, "out-of-the-box" critical thinking abilitiesAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamProficient in identifying, inspecting, using, and maintaining engineering hand toolsSkilled in selecting, using, and maintaining engineering power toolsKnowledge of product and process developmentSolid understanding of engineering principlesAwareness of health and safety standards in the manufacturing environmentProficient in CAE software, preferably Catia V5 or SolidWorksStrong time management and teamwork abilitiesFamiliar with quality systems, preferably ISO 9001 and IATF 16949Excellent attention to detail Minimum requirementsDiploma in Mechanical EngineeringCAE software, preferably Catia V5 or SolidWorks Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
