The Desktop Support Technician will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining hardware and software across the organization. This role involves a mix of hands-on and remote support, requiring someone who can communicate technical solutions effectively to users of varying tech skill levels. Coordinate with the procurement team to order necessary hardware and ensure timely delivery. Respond to support requests on the ticketing system and ensure accurate timeously response. Monitor daily computer performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Update and maintain the computer inventory and equipment records in the company asset tracking system, notifying relevant teams of any changes. Maintain and troubleshoot connections for LAN/WAN networks, VoIP systems, biometric devices, and AV systems. Ensure desktop computers integrate seamlessly with other systems, considering compatibility requirements. Implement and endorse system upgrades to enhance performance and ensure long-term durability. Vodacom system management, of all new accounts Add all new users to TeamView for easy IT remote access Manage the configuration and set up of work phones for all staff Ensure all equipment repairs take place, either by booking the equipment in or repairing the device onsite Provide standby technical support to staff and customers as needed. Provide relief and support to the ISP Desktop Technician when required Qualifications: Qualification or Certificate in Information Technology or other relevant qualifications from industry recognised institutes (A, N, MCSA, MCSE, MCP or MOUSE) Experience and Knowledge: Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting desktop and laptop computers and their operating systems and peripherals in office environments (Windows, Chrome OS, Macos) Experience working with, configuring and troubleshooting network devices (Network switches, VOIP handsets, Routers, etc.) Skills and Attributes Customer Service Orientation: Strong commitment to helping users and providing a positive support experience. Communication Skills: Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users. Problem-Solving Ability: Analytical mindset for diagnosing and resolving a wide range of technical issues.
