Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Design/Improvement Specialist with a strong background in commerce, industrial engineering, or a related field.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience in design and process improvement within a relevant industry.
This role is crucial for driving innovation, optimizing processes, and enhancing product designs to meet customer needs and business objectives.
Duties and responsibilities Lead the design process for new products and improvements to existing products, ensuring alignment with market trends and customer requirements.
Analyse current processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies, proposing innovative solutions to enhance productivity and quality.
Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and sales teams to gather insights and ensure designs meet feasibility and marketability standards.
Oversee projects from concept through execution, managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to inform design decisions and process improvements, employing statistical methods and tools as needed.
Mentor and train junior staff on design principles, improvement methodologies, and best practices in the field.
Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations, conducting risk assessments and implementing quality control measures.
Maintain thorough documentation of design processes and improvements, providing regular reports to management on project status and outcomes.
Requirements Qualifications Master's degree in Commerce, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years in design and process improvement roles, with a proven track record of successful project execution and measurable outcomes.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software (e.g., CAD, SolidWorks) and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
