Job Description Key Role The Design Engineer performs a variety of civil engineering design activities including 3D modelling of engineering designs as well as structural engineering design activities including Revit modelling and analysis of reinforcement using Prokon and associated preparation of preliminary through to construction drawings for projects, establishing guidelines and procedures and managing workload distribution within the Design team.
The incumbent must be familiar with Autodesk Suite of design software tools.
Proven competence in engineering design using Civil3D and Revit.
The incumbent must be able to develop and interpret civil engineering detail design work under the guidance of the professional engineer or professional technologist.
The opportunity exists for the Bloemfontein Office.
Key Responsibilities Design of Civil infrastructure using Civil3D (Roads, pipe networks.
); Project delivery including the preparation of structural schemes, analysis models, detailed calculations, sketches, reports, and specifications Delivery of structural engineering designs in a multi-disciplinary project environment Project management and interfacing with other engineering disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects Provide technical input from initial assessment through technical and economic feasibility to design development and construction implementation to project close out Carry out investigations, surveys, design, engineering calculations and preparation of working drawings and estimates Review overall project design and suggest technical and design improvements Assist with the preparation of cost estimates on project designs Detail oriented with strong skills in municipal Infrastructure and roads Ability to work in a team environment and must have excellent verbal and written skills Health and Safety Upholding standards for SHEQ performance and behaviour consistent with the company's health, safety, environmental and quality vision and policies by influencing those around you.

Qualifications Qualification and Experience Required Minimum of BEng.
/ BSc (Civil Engineering) or BTech (Civil Engineering) 2-5 years' experience in civil engineering. Must be registered with ECSA as Candidate Engineer.
Registration as a Professional Engineer with ECSA will be an advantage.
Knowledge of the relevant standards, regulations and legislation in engineering Key Competencies and Generic Skills Strong technical engineering ability Excellent communication skills.
