Desig Artisan Maint Toolmaker

Job Title: Designated Artisan -Tool Jig & Die Maker (6 Months contract) Band Level:   Skill level 6 Division: Weld Maintenance (TDM Jigshop) Location: Durban __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________   KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:   Stable production- ensure minimal downtime to plant.
Maintain and improve Safety, Health, and Environment Standards Legal compliance checks and improvements Tool and Die repairs.
Toyota Production System Adherence Preventative Maintenance (Welding Jig & fixture TPM's) Control Time and attendance.
Identify and implement Jig improvements (Kaizen) Must be prepared to work shifts, overtime, and standby duties as and when is required.
Participate in project development, Kaizen, and cost reduction activities.
Support with in-house machine maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:   N3+ Trade test – Tool, jig & Die Maker.
Minimum 3 years' experience in the manufacturing environment.
Experience with Press Tooling will be an added advantage.
Must be Computer literate.
Able to read Engineering / CAD drawings proficiently.
Must have a working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
Conventional Milling and Turning & Fabrication experience.
CNC machining will be an added advantage.
Jigs & Fixtures maintenance knowledge.
Basic knowledge of Jig Accuracy Principals.
