The role offers significant market exposure and professional growth, perfect for individuals with a strong interest in derivatives and financial markets.Key Responsibilities:Support Senior Traders while learning and mastering the trading processProvide clients with high-quality, asset-class-specific market intelligenceFocus on revenue generation by being proactive and taking initiativeExecute orders with accuracy and accountabilityProduce and distribute research and market intelligence for the derivatives deskCreate bespoke or ongoing research products and trading ideasEngage in regular client interactions and handle queries promptlyParticipate in morning meetings and contribute to the overall desk operationsExperience:1-3 years of experience in a stockbroking or investment banking environmentIdeally proficient in trading/information systemsStrong passion for financial markets, particularly in derivativesQualifications:A tertiary qualification, with a strong foundation in Statistics and EconomicsCompletion of relevant JSE trading exams (RPE) would be an advantageSolid skills in Excel; programming knowledge is a plusKey Competencies:Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and results-orientedAbility to solve problems and think criticallyEffective time management and ability to handle pressureExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalPersonable and professional, with confidence in client interactionsCollaborative team player with strong attention to detailCapable of generating trading ideas and approaching problems logicallyThis role provides a fantastic learning platform for anyone eager to grow within the derivatives space, with a clear path to becoming a key trader on the desk.
