A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER AT HAMPTON BY HILTON LONDON DOCKLANDS
The Deputy General Manager contributes to the successful day to day running of this busy hotel next to Excel Exhibition Centre by supporting the General Manager with managing a team of 35 team members who work within the operation of the Hampton by Hilton London, Docklands. This role will suit an experienced leader who has experience at a senior HOD level, in either a full service or focused service hotel. You must be strong in both Food and Beverage and Rooms Division, with experience within Human Resources practices. A keen project manager who is good at presentations to all levels of stakeholders.
We are looking for an individual who is a genuine all-rounder operationally, has a background in branded hotels and can lead a team of HOD's with both commercial awareness and a guest service focused attitude. You will be responsible for leading and training the HOD team in Brand Standards, Financial awareness of their departments, including budgeting and forecasting their departments, as well as delivering a great guest experience with real personality. You will lead the DM team and also act as Duty Manager on a rota basis.
The successful applicant for this role will be able to demonstrate great leadership skills, deliver excellent customer service, be approachable, enthusiastic, visible and confident at guiding team members to be capable in problem solving and service recovery. You will have a positive "can do" attitude, be a proactive planner and great communicator to all stakeholders within the business.
You will work closely with the General Manager and you will have the desire to learn and develop your own career, making this an exciting position for an experienced Hotel/Operations Manager with their eyes set on becoming a General Manager of the future.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We're looking for an individual who can communicate well with others, can carry out instructions, is able to pay close attention to detail and will commit to providing outstanding service to our guests. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm and professional in high service demand times.
You will be expected to be on the floor, demonstrating your ability as a strong leader - guiding the team and interacting with guests to ensure that they have a great experience staying with us. You must be a great problem solver and be the main "go to person" for guests and team members alike! We take pride in serving and you will be an ambassador in this aspect of the job.
Experience within the hotel industry and a customer facing role is essential for this job, it will be even better if you have previous experience in using OnQ, the Hilton Property Management system and support systems that we use on a daily basis; full training can be given.
