Deputy General Manager (Hospitality Industry) - Drakensburg

RedCat Recruitment is seeking an experienced DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER (HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY) for a large growing concern, position based in the Drakensburg area, KwaZulu-Natal. REQUIREMENTSGrade 12.Relevant recognised hotel / hospitality / management qualification.Valid drivers license / own reliable vehicle.Strong computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet). Micros knowledge / background ESSENTIAL!3+ yrs working experience in the capacity of General Manager or deputy General Manager.Basic knowledge in maintenance and estates management advantageous.Custodian of all health and safety requirements pertaining to the hotel.Responsible for all labour related matters and ensuring our compliance with the LRA; good understanding and exposure to these matters should be demonstrated.Security liaise with our outsourced security company together with our security consultant to ensure that all matters related to safety and security of staff, guests and assets are maintained and monitored.Responsible for the overseeing of the food and beverage department, delegating to an Executive chef, F&B Controller, and F&B Manager.The assistance in setup of special events and co-ordination of these setups and execution with the relevant departments involved.Oversee the hotel in the absence of the General Manager.Responsible for the insurance of the vehicles and other machinery of the hotel.Liaise with the General Manager over any SLAs that are required for vendors and services that the hotel utilises.Responsible for low level legal requirements pertaining to the licensing requirements of a hotel and subsequent outlets.Responsible for the assurance of our firefighting team and equipment when called upon, together with maintenance and estates managers, respectively.Oversee fire break operations annually with the respective stakeholders in the valley.Willing to stay for extended periods of time in a central Drakensberg type location.
