DEPUTY DIRECTOR INDUSTRY AND ENVIRONMENT 12 MTHS FTC - Gauteng, PretoriaPURPOSE:To contribute to the support of research, development and innovation (RDI) in biological processes for the production of goods and services, while enhancing water and wastewater-management practices to support the green economy.QUALIFICATIONS:NQF level 6 in Life Science/Technology Management.Bachelor's degree qualification is an added advantage.EXPERIENCE:Minimum 3 years working experience in the industry biotechnology sector.JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:Contribute to the development and growth of the Industrial and Environmental sectors of the bioeconomy.Conceptualise and draft (including implementation) of the Industrial and Environmental Bioeconomy RDI instruments.Promote awareness and public understanding of the Industrial and Environmental sectors of the Bioeconomy.Liaise with stakeholders (industry, academia, agencies, government departments, etc.) within the sectors of the bioeconomy.Contribute to the drafting of Business/Investment case/concept documents and Terms of Reference (ToRs) for the establishment and coordination of the governance structure(s) in support of the implementation plan for the Industrial and Environmental sectors of the Bioeconomy.Support the translation of Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) outputs to grow the Industrial and Environmental Bioeconomy.Facilitate resource investments in support of RDI thematic areas of the industrial and environmental Bioeconomy.Conceptualise business development initiatives to support knowledge application, commercialisation, and engagements with supported institutions/agencies (CSIR, TIA, Higher Education Institutions, etc.) to drive RDI translation.Contract and project management of the directorate's investment instruments.Provide support to the achievement of Operational Plan (OP) and Annual Performance Plan (APP) targets.Desired Skills:Working experience in the industry biotechnology sector.Contribute to the development and growth of the Industrial and Environmental sectors of the bioeconomy.
