Job title : Deputy Chief of Party, USAIDJob Location : Eastern Cape, East LondonDeadline : February 04, 2025Quick Recommended Links Jobs by Location Job by industries About the Position Dexis is seeking an experienced Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) to lead an anticipated multi-year program in East Africa. This position is contingent upon contract award. Responsibilities The Deputy Chief of Party is responsible for supporting the Chief of Party (COP) and serving as the secondary or alternate liaison with USAID.
The DCOP will support the COP in all aspects of project management, will serve as Acting COP as needed, and will provide technical direction for activities under the project..
Serve as technical specialist related to the scope of the project and provide nuanced knowledge of the East African context. Support the COP in developing and maintaining effective partnerships with counterparts, including a broad range of government institutions. Coordinate with the technical and administrative teams to develop, implement, and modify annual work plans and detailed budgets. Oversee and participate in the drafting of project deliverables, including annual plans/reports, quarterly reports, MEL plans, success stories, and additional deliverables. Ensure compliance with USAID, USG, and company regulations. Provide inputs into capacity development activities, including grants, recommending adaptations based on lessons learned.
Identify successful practices and learning that can be showcased in publications, communication materials, and conferences with USAID and the broader development community.
Serve as the Acting Chief of Party when so appointed. Qualifications A bachelor's degree with ten (10) years' experience in the development field. Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills with demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively with a wide range of staff and stakeholders. Experience working with senior government officials and building consensus among diverse actors. Experience leading technical teams implementing complex activities in the desired sectors.
Proficiency in English required. Prior experience working in East Africa highly preferred. Administrative / Management jobs
