Demi Chef De Partie Baker - Cruise Ship - Assist the Head Baker in creating and executing a variety of baked goods, desserts, and breads for all dining outlets on board the ship - Ensure that all items are prepared to the highest quality standards and in accordance with the company's recipes and guidelines - Maintain a clean and organized work station, following all sanitation and safety regulations - Assist in inventory management and ordering of ingredients and supplies - Train and supervise junior pastry cooks and bakers, ensuring they adhere to company standards and procedures - Collaborate with other departments, such as the main kitchen and restaurant teams, to ensure smooth and efficient operations - Participate in menu planning and development, bringing new and creative ideas to the table - Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to food safety and hygiene - Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times, representing the company in a positive light to guests and fellow crew members Qualifications: - Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pastry Cook or Baker in a high-volume, upscale restaurant or hotel - Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized culinary institution preferred - Strong knowledge of pastry and bakery techniques and methods - Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment - Excellent organizational and time-management skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Flexibility to work long hours and adapt to changing schedules and demands - Fluent in English, both spoken and written - Valid Food Handler's Certificate or equivalent - Previous experience working on a cruise ship is an asset, but not required If you are a passionate and talented pastry professional seeking a new and exciting challenge, we would love to hear from you.
