Debtors Controller

Join a thriving Beverage Distribution company located in Cape Town. Our client is seeking a skilled Debtors Controller to manage the full debtor's function. The successful candidate will oversee the collection of debtors' accounts, control and reconcile accounts receivable, ensure that accounts are settled timeously and accurately, and handle customer queries promptly.Key Responsibilities:Allocate and match payments received to processed invoicesInvestigate and prepare supporting documents for customer credit requestsProcess customer rebates and manage credit notes and invoicesCollaborate with Sales Reps regarding blocked accounts due to non-paymentPrepare and send monthly debtors' invoices and statementsConduct debt collection via phone and emailReconcile customer accounts and allocate marketing accountsCreate and maintain customer payment termsHandle customer queries and allocate consignment salesGenerate customer invoices and credit notes for consignment salesReporting:Customer Drop Shipment ReportsOutstanding Debtors ReportsConsignment Billing ReportsMonthly reporting for annual audit preparationExperience and Skills Required:Proven experience in debtors, credit control, or collectionsStrong account reconciliation experienceBasic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principlesExperience managing retail debtor accounts (e.g., Checkers, PnP, Spar, Makro)Personality Traits:Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesAssertive, confident, and able to prioritise tasksExcellent telephone and written communication skillsStrong attention to detail with analytical skillsHigh level of customer service and teamwork skills
