Our platform provides the opportunity to work alongside some of the most experienced and skilled transaction advisors in the industry.The Deals Strategy team works in a high-paced, high-pressure M&A transactions environment. We work with a wide variety of corporate and private equity clients, undertaking a broad range of projects involving strategy development, market assessment, Commercial Due Diligence, portfolio reviews, and pre- and post-deal strategic advice.Our projects are typically short and sharp, providing the opportunity to gain a variety of experiences across sectors and/or engagement types, whilst continuously learning and developing. The majority of our work is Johannesburg-based but there are times when it is required to travel in South Africa and internationally across the region.As a fast-growing offering, we are now looking for people with a desire for Strategy work and exposure to the M&A Deals environment to join and help shape our team as part of PwC's market-leading Deals practice.About the roleAssociates / Senior AssociatesWe are looking for top talent. High energy and driven individuals who want to learn about and get exposure to the Deals environment in South Africa and globally. The role requires a strong academic record with a natural business acumen and critical thinking skills. PwC Deal team members need to be motivated and eager to learn from their immediate superiors, constantly looking to better themselves and the business.This is a junior role offering an exciting career opportunity for massive growth and development. You will be given exposure to interesting and exciting strategy engagements, as well as the opportunity to be a part of a growing team within PwC. Associates / Senior Associates are integral in delivering successful projects; combining razor-sharp analysis with creative problem-solving. As Associates / Senior Associates on our team you will be involved in:Market and competitor analysis (market sizing, drivers and dynamics, competitive intensity, etc.)Customer analysis (customer referencing, key purchase criteria, trend analysis, etc.)Internal analysis (strategic analysis, business model review, financial analysis)To equip our Associates / Senior Associates to do this we develop talented individuals through formal and on-the-job training in subjects such as:Primary research and data gatheringData analysisReport writing and effective communicationDeveloping hypotheses and problem solvingEffective use of appropriate techniques and toolsAbout youOutstanding academic track record (Honours or Masters level from a top-tier university; preference for a Business Science, Commerce, Economics, Engineering or Science degree)Previous strategy and/or Commercial Due Diligence experience (minimum 18-24 months) either in a corporate strategy or Big 4/strategy consultancy environmentStrong intellectual ability, commercial awareness, analytical skills, flexibilityAble to effectively work in small teams consisting of highly ambitious and driven individualsConfidence and credibility to present your opinions to senior team membersWork ethic and commitment to the team – our work can involve working outside of a regular 9-to-5 routine and it is important you are highly motivated and hungry for the opportunity to make a difference from day oneExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSDegree (Honours or Masters)MBA not essential but desirableEXPERIENCEDependent on strength of individualTravel RequirementsUp to 20%Available for Work Visa Sponsorship?NoJob Posting End DateDecember 28, 2024
