DESCRIPTION / SYNOPSIS: This is a unique opportunity for young Corporate Finance Professionals, looking to build a career in the corporate finance/private equity space. The role is earmarked for succession to a fully-fledged Corporate Finance Analyst, with exciting growth and development opportunities for the successful candidate. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Degree/Honours degree in Finance/Economics/Investment Management/Econometrics or similar discipline CFA or studying towards an advantage 1 – 2 years corporate finance experience, or coming from a Graduate Programme or Internship, either with a Corporate Advisory or Private Equity Firm, or a Banking Institution, or an Audit Firm's corporate finance division. Someone with a keen interest in the Corporate Finance/ Private Equity/Investment industry, who is looking to build a career in the industry. RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the Management and Mentorship of a Corporate Finance Analyst, the Deal Support Analyst will be exposed to the following:
Improve and assist in deal origination by providing researching the South African equity market, identifying client opportunities, and delivering the required output to clients, and thereby refining and enhancing coverage Improve, execute analyses and identify meaningful trends, opportunities, and communicate the results to senior management Assist in conceptualizing, structuring, originating, implementing of pitches and/or transactions, by assisting in compiling and pitching presentations to prospective clients and the execution and implementation of existing advisory mandates. Participate in business meetings with team leaders and managers to assess, and identify issues with current business operations and implement improvements to streamline business processes Assist in providing timely and accurate financial and business analytics to executives, board members and other senior managers Assist with developing actionable roadmaps to improve processes and workflows Help ensure that all operations comply with local, national and global regulations Support effective execution and implementation of advisory mandates, complying with risk standards, performing relevant financial modelling for transaction execution, researching, analysing investment proposals/pitches to clients, and reviewing transaction-specific legal agreements.
