Location – Poplar, East London
Job Overview – We have a vacancy for a Deaf Support Manager, who will lead the provision for pupils who are deaf or have hearing impairments across the school, in order to ensure that these pupils make excellent progress. They will also support Qualified Teachers of the Deaf (QToDs) and trainee Teachers of the Deaf (TToD) to ensure that the quality of teaching and learning is of a high standard. This will be delivered through the teaching and modelling of lessons and supporting teachers with planning, preparation and assessments. The successful applicant will report to the appropriate Assistant Principal at the school.
The successful applicant will have: Must have Teacher of the Deaf QualificationSound knowledge and understanding of audiologyMinimum Level 1 signing qualificationExperience of teaching and supporting deaf and hearing impaired pupils in mainstream schools or in an alternative provision educational settingA commitment to collaborative working and liaising with mainstream teachers, parents/carers and other professionals, agencies and services as appropriate;Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and promote effective, inclusive education for deaf childrenSalary: Teaching Staff Pay Scales points 1 – 9 (National); £36,745 – £56,959 FTE (plus TLR of £3,214 and SEN allowance of £3,774)
