About the job Database Administrator - MongoContract positionBachelors degree in Computer Science or related field required4 years of experience managing MONGODB environment4 years of experience with MONGODB ENTERPRISE edition with OPSMANAGERWorking on Linux servers (not necessary as an ADMIN)Strong proficiency in performance tuningStrong proficiency in backup/restore techniquesStrong proficiency in Linux operating system and scripts developmentsExperience working with AWS infrastructures services (EC2, S3)Responsibilities:Managing installations and upgradesAssisting Development Teams in designing and optimising systemsCarrying out database administration tasksWorking with SECURITY team to manage access and complianceChecking OS and Database logsDo backups and restores as requestedDo regular disaster recovery trialsProfile server resource usage, optimise and tweak as necessaryRegularly review AD groups to make sure membership is still validProvide output to internal and external auditors as requestedImplement encryption and data masking options where requiredGrant permission to servers and databases in conjunction with standards as per security teamReview DBMS software licenses for compliance as well as opportunities to reduce costs.Resolve incidentsTo research, assess and implement new features of MONGODBTroubleshoot and support on DBA issuesPerform change management tasks to push data changes to various systems in the enterpriseIdentifies new opportunities for optimization, budgeting, and hiring
