My client is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join their team in Pretoria East. The ideal candidate will have a strong Business Information background and extensive database management experience. This role is office-based and requires a proactive individual who can ensure the smooth operation and security of the company's databases.
Key Responsibilities:Database Design and Implementation: Design and manage database systems that meet the specialized needs of our users, ensuring high availability and quality.Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security measures to protect data, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.Performance Management: Monitor and manage database performance, optimizing for speed and efficiency.Data Backup and Recovery: Design and implement strategies for database backup, archiving, and recovery to prevent data loss.Incident Management: Respond to and manage database incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.Collaboration: Work closely with data architects and IT specialists to set up, maintain, and monitor data networks.Qualifications:Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in database administration or a related field.Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and other database technologies such as MS SQL Server, MySQL, and others.Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot database issues effectively.Business Acumen: Understanding of business information systems and their integration with database management.Salary: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
