Are you someone who has experience in: Responsible for the 24/7 support of DB2 production database services to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance required by the business systems.You will be responsible for: Ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the systemWorking with the team to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high availability and optimum performanceProactively monitoring the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtimeProviding statistics for trend analysisImprovement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgradesImplementation and release of database changes as submitted by the development teamInstalling and upgrading the DB2 server and application toolsAllocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database systemCreating primary database storage structures after application developers have designed an applicationCreating primary objects (tables, views, indexes) once application developers have designed an applicationModifying the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application developersEnrolling users and maintaining system securityControlling and monitoring user access to the databaseMonitoring and optimizing the performance of the databasePlanning for backup and recovery of database informationMaintaining archived dataBacking up and restoring the databaseWriting ad-hoc queries based on schema knowledge for various reporting requirementsSecurity and access control.What you will need: Must have between 4 and 6 years relevant experienceMust be able to perform duties listed aboveDB2 technical skillsGeneral database maintenanceDatabase performance & storage optimisationDatabase securityGood knowledge of SQL.Good knowledge of LinuxDB2 mainframe experienceWe can be a match if you can: Very good interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skillsCommitted, reliable, self-starter, able to work independentlyProblem determination/solving skillsAre you interested to take the step?
