Data Scientist (Sas)

High profile credit and financial services division of leading retail group seeks a skilled Data Scientist / AnalystThe candidate must have aCompleted BSc degree with Honours preferred.
(Computer science / Maths / Financial Maths / Engineering)with approximately 5 years relevant Data Analyst / Data Scientist experienceData Analyst / Data Scientist experience from a Retail or Financial Services environment.and be proficient in the use of SAS (DS2), Visual Analytics, SQL (relational databases), and API Software.Please note this is an office based position, situated in the Sandton area. The role is responsible for assessing, developing, and optimizing credit rules and strategies within the credit decision systems.
The ideal candidate will ensure these strategies are correctly implemented and functioning in production, while also analysing system and credit data to answer business questions.
They will play a crucial role in maintaining system integrity, ensuring seamless interaction between the credit strategy and the business's credit rules, and providing insightful reporting to support early warning triggers and monitoring. This is a growing division, and we seek a smart, skilled, and dynamic candidate with a strong communication skill set, able to contribute to the data, analytics and business case for the department.
