A registered Financial Service Provider with an undivided team of diverse thinkers and doers who believe in leading through technology and pushing past their limits with innovation at its core is seeking a dynamic Data Scientist to plan, build, optimise and implement innovative quantitative analytical methodologies, procedures, products and advanced mathematical models that provide analytical support and interpret insights.
Responsibilities: Data Analysis: Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business strategy and decision-making.
Model Development: Develop and implement predictive and prescriptive models using machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques.
Data Exploration: Explore and preprocess data to ensure data quality, completeness, and suitability for analysis.
Hypothesis Testing: Design and execute experiments to test hypotheses and measure the impact of business initiatives.
Visualization: Create compelling data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings and insights to stakeholders.
A/B Testing: Design and analyse A/B tests to optimize product features, user experiences, and marketing campaigns.
Qualifications and Experience: Degree: in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Data Scientist, with at least (5 years) of experience in data analysis and predictive modelling.
Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using tools like Python or R. Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau).
Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
Knowledge of big data technologies and distributed computing (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
The Reference Number for this position is NG59734 which is a 12-month Contract position in Johannesburg offering a salary of R400 up to R600 per hour, salary negotiable based on experience.
