Data Engineer

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Data Engineer.
The main focus of this role will be report writing and providing actionable insights.
As the role evolves, the successful candidate will develop and maintain robust data pipelines to ensure seamless integration and accessibility of data across the organisation.
Responsibilities:• Data Reporting:o Design, develop, and maintain detailed and accurate reports to meet operational and business needs.o Collaborate with teams to identify key metrics and ensure timely delivery of reporting solutions.• Data Engineering and Pipeline Development:o Assist in designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and efficient data pipelines.o Optimize data flow and collection across various teams and systems as the role evolves.• Collaboration and Communication:o Engage with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.o Present insights and reports effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.• Tools and Process Optimisation:o Leverage Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting in the initial stages.o Transition to advanced tools and frameworks as the data ecosystem grows.
Requirements:Qualifications and Experience: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.• 2–4 years of experience in a data engineering or similar role.• Exposure to the logistics industry or knowledge of supply chain management is advantageous.
Technical Skills• Proficient in Excel, with strong skills in advanced formulas, pivot tables, and macros.• Experience with SQL for querying and managing relational databases.• Familiarity with ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend, or similar).• Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.• Programming experience in Python, R, or another data-centric language is a plus.
Soft Skills• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and within a team.• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
