Data Engineer Century City, Cape Town R60 000 to R80 000 Per Month Our company provides weekly market statistics to the fresh produce industry, processing data from over 200 source systems. The role involves cleaning and aggregating data through our pipeline. The candidate will improve and streamline processes regarding data flow and quality, working both independently and within a team environment. The ideal candidate · Ability to work from Office & Home (Hybrid Position) · 1 Year Contract with the possibility of permanency · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills · Excellent knowledge of relational and dimensional data models and reporting techniques · Ability to work independently and within a team environment · Experience with logistics or agricultural exports · Experience in project management or company management · Improve and streamline processes regarding data flow and data quality Qualifications and experience · Bachelors degree in computer science, Industrial Engineering, Logistics or completion of a technical training program in a software development programming language · 5 or more years of experience within a SQL database environment · Excellent demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Business Intelligence Technologies · Knowledge of SQL Server and MySQL · Exposure to Python, R or Talend · Proven ability to specify and support various data integration scenarios (e.g. ETL, API, JSON, etc.) · Exposure to Power BI, tools and architecture, advantageous · Data Science exposure or experience advantageous Skills · Business Analysis skills: an outstanding ability to synthesize the essence of the business problem, and present it concisely to all stakeholders · Business Intelligence skills: compile reports from business questions and different data sources. · Mindfulness: be considerate of the implications of your work, really care about what you are doing and the impact of your contribution · Ability to thrive as a self-starter in a dynamic environment with a flat reporting structure · Strong attention to detail; logical, systematic, relentless focus on 100% accuracy · Problem-solving aptitude · Adaptable to change, huge capacity for hard work
