Data Engineer

Hire Resolve's client is looking for a Data Engineer to join their team in Cape Town.
In this role, you will be tasked with designing, building, and managing scalable data pipelines that enable the efficient processing of large datasets.

Responsibilities Develop and maintain robust data pipelines to support data ingestion and processing.
Transform raw data into a format that can be easily analyzed through effective extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) practices.
Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to define data requirements and deliver scalable data solutions.
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle.
Monitor and optimize data processing and storage performance.
Utilize cloud services to build and maintain reliable data infrastructure.
Document data processes and systems clearly for team collaboration.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
Strong expertise in SQL and experience with database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java.
Experience with ETL tools and data warehousing solutions.
Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) for data storage and processing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
