Your key job responsibilities as the Data Engineer in Cape Town will include:
Continuously improve our processes and practices.Proactively identify issues to enhance code quality.Attend to both functional and non-functional requirements.Stay updated with new technologies in the data landscape.Ensure data quality, performance, and reliability through automated testing, monitoring, and proactive issue resolution.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, deliver data solutions, and optimize processes.Requirements for this Data Engineer job in Cape Town:
In-depth understanding of relational databases, SSIS/SSAS/SSRS, and SQL Server features, with proficiency in a highly transactional environment.Advanced knowledge of T-SQL, query plans, and the RDBMS engine to identify and resolve complex performance and concurrency issues.Ability to model data based on requirements and recommend system designs for future development.Strong understanding of DevOps principles and experience with tools such as Azure DevOps for CI/CD, automation, GIT, and infrastructure management.Consideration of non-functional requirements (e.g., security, archiving) when developing or reviewing code.Knowledge of additional programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, or C#)Experience with cloud technologies, particularly Azure, and services like Databricks and Event Hubs.Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker.Experience with or knowledge of Kubernetes (K8).Exposure to working with financial data sets.If you're ready to redefine what's possible in data engineering and shape the future of online betting and gaming, apply now at ****** to join our client's innovative and globally recognized team.
