The Datacentre Manager position entails the maintenance, support, and deployment of all hosting solutions along with associated support activities. Responsibilities include managing and maintaining Active Directory, overseeing corporate systems including email, collaboration tools, SQL servers, application servers, hosted file repositories, and cloud-based hosting environments. The role involves maintaining a monitoring system for fault detection, managing backups, and ensuring business continuity. The Datacentre Manager will be accountable for delivering excellent IT services to all affiliated businesses and ensuring data centre infrastructure stability and performance, including integrated services like networks, IT security, and applications.Requirements:Grade 12, with a relevant tertiary qualification being advantageous (Cobit/ITIL)ITIL V4.0 certificationA+ and N+ certificationsMinimum work experience required:At least 8 years of experience in an IT environment with relevant IT infrastructure and datacentre management experienceKey Performance Areas:Coordinating operational changes across all stakeholdersProviding operational inputs into hosted infrastructureManaging day-to-day interactions with third-party suppliersPlanning and implementing optimal technology servicesIdentifying continuous improvement opportunitiesProviding input into IT strategies related to the data centre environmentAligning IT services with business requirementsEnsuring adherence to IT governance processesServing as a point of escalation for unresolved issuesMentoring service desk employees for their growthParticipating in migration projects between data centres when necessaryProviding input in due diligence processes when requiredTechnical Knowledge/Capabilities:Exceptional knowledge of cloud datacentres, physical datacentres, hosting platforms, IoT, and ITIL principlesExperience in crisis management and critical thinkingProficiency in MS OfficeExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to build and maintain sustainable relationships with stakeholdersKnowledge of different infrastructure architecture frameworksInnovation and creativityLeadership and team management skillsGoal-oriented with a high sense of urgencyStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and take initiative
