Main purpose of the job:To timeously and accurately capture data onto the database, and follow up with stakeholders as required to ensure completeness of dataLocation:NICD – Sandringham, JohannesburgKey performance areas:Rapidly identify surveillance cases by:Close liaison with the clinical laboratoryDaily review of all laboratory recordsUsing other methods that have been put in place for that siteActively participate in and contribute to surveillance-related activities, e.g. special research studies nested within the surveillance programme, programme evaluations, etc.Compilation of statistics and reports as dictated by the project activities or as required by line managerWork effectively with existing DoH system in the district/region to achieve the objectives within the project/programLiaise with any other stakeholders as necessary and directed by supervisors to ensure timely and accurate collation of dataCheck, capture and update patient information onto relevant database systems to ensure matching of the analytical results and demographicsIdentify and report technical errors with data captured to supervisors in order to correct errorsFile the capture data for safe record keeping purposesRequired minimum education and training: Grade 12/Matric Required minimum work experience:A minimum of 1 year data capture experience in a multi-stakeholder environmentDesirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:Exceptional organizational and administrative skills with working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeComputer LiterateBe able to maintain confidentiality, tact and professionalism at all timesMust be assertive, confident and adaptableMust be self-motivatedMust be able to pay attention to detailTO APPLY:Only if you do meet the minimum job requirements and experience as mentioned above, you may submit a detailed updated CV.Please Apply Online and complete your registration on Ditto Hire (our application tracking system) to enable and protect you as a candidate to accept the new POPIA terms and conditions.
