Duties & Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain the data architecture within the organisation by collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective data management, integration, and accessibility.
Drive data-driven decision-making and support the organisation's strategic goals.
Develop and maintain the overall data architecture strategy and vision.
Design data models, databases, data warehouses, and data lakes to support various business needs.
Define and implement data integration, transformation, and migration strategies.
Establish data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
Ensure data quality, accuracy, consistency, and security across the organization.
Define and enforce data access controls and permissions.
Design and implement efficient ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources into the data ecosystem.
Identify opportunities for automating and optimizing data integration workflows.
Collaborate with data analysts and business intelligence teams to design and optimize data structures for reporting and analysis purposes.
Assist in creating and maintaining data visualizations, dashboards, and reports.
Stay updated on emerging data technologies and trends, and evaluate their relevance to the organization.
Recommend and select appropriate tools, platforms, and frameworks for data management, storage, and processing.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand their data requirements and provide technical guidance.
Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
Monitor and optimize data architecture performance, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
Implement strategies to enhance data processing speed, scalability, and efficiency.
Desired Experience & Qualification Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
Proven experience as a Data Architect or similar role, with a track record of successful data architecture design and implementation.
Strong expertise in data modeling, database design, and data integration techniques.
Proficiency in data management tools, such as relational databases, NoSQL databases, data warehouses, ETL tools, etc.
Min 2-3 years' experience with data governance, data security, and compliance requirements.
Min 3-4 years' experience in designing and implementing big data and analytics platforms like Hadoop and Apache Spark.
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data processing (e.g., SQL, Python, Java).
Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and related services on AWS.
