The Cybersecurity Specialist is responsible for safeguarding the organization's digital assets, networks, systems, and data.
The role ensures robust security measures are in place to protect against threats, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access while ensuring compliance with governance and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Security:
Design and implement security measures to protect the organization's network infrastructure.
Monitor and mitigate risks from network-based threats, ensuring infrastructure integrity.
Deploy and manage tools to secure devices such as laptops, smartphones, and tablets from potential attacks.
Conduct regular assessments to identify and resolve endpoint vulnerabilities.
Application Security:
Collaborate with development teams to secure software applications against vulnerabilities.
Perform security testing and implement controls to prevent unauthorized access.
Data Security:
Protect organizational and stakeholder data by implementing encryption, backup, and access control measures.
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and best practices.
Identity and Access Management (IAM):
Define and enforce access policies to control user permissions for systems, applications, and data.
Manage identity lifecycle processes, including onboarding, authentication, and role-based access control.
Security Operations:
Monitor for security incidents using tools like SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems.
Respond to incidents by investigating and mitigating threats, ensuring minimal impact on operations.
Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC):
Align cybersecurity practices with industry regulations, standards, and risk management strategies.
Maintain documentation to demonstrate compliance and support audits.
RequirementsQualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in cybersecurity, including threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.
Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of cybersecurity tools, technologies, and frameworks.
Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with laws and regulations such as GDPR, POPIA, or NIST standards.
Attention to Detail: Ensuring thoroughness in monitoring, testing, and implementing security measures.
