As the Maersk Customs Services (MCS) Product Manager, your primary goal is to grow the business while ensuring a healthy profit and loss (PnL). To do this, you must have strong business and financial skills, and support customer integration to drive product adoption and sales. Your role involves equipping internal teams like sales, marketing, and customer support with the tools they need to understand and promote the product, as well as maintain compliance with regulations and certifications like AEO (Authorised Economic Operator).Key responsibilities: In addition to leading people and managing tasks, your responsibilities include training and education, sales enablement, and coordinating across various teams.You will also be responsible for hiring, coaching, evaluating performance, and salary reviews.You contribute to business plans, set policies, and manage financial performance, which requires strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.Your work will involve understanding and managing financial performance, ensuring accurate analysis and reporting.You will be setting budgets, forecasting, monthly reporting, developing growth initiatives and designing and implementing a business plan for customs that aligns with the organizational goals. You will also focus on supporting sales activities, managing pipelines, and participating in tenders to meet sales targets.You will collaborate with a range of internal teams, including Area and Regional leadership, sales and customer service, product development, finance, technology, procurement, and compliance. Additionally, you will engage with external stakeholders such as clients, customs regulators, government agencies, and customer service vendors.We're looking for: Minimum 8 years industry experience in Customs Brokerage, Trade Compliance and proven business development track record.Bachelor's degree is preferred.The successful candidate has vast proven experience working in a clearing and forwarding environment or even a regional customs manager with responsibility towards financial performance, the execution teams and customer engagements and driving the growth roadmap.This person will be very comfortable being the subject matter expert in discussions with customers on their customs portfolios as well as to internal stakeholders in managing opportunities and compliance risk.You are a self-assured communicator with a great commercial flair and the confidence to have a presentation and a discussion with customers and drive a sale.Strong financial acumen and an entrepreneurial mindset.Strong understanding of Customs Services requirements including Quarterly Business reviews, standard KPI requirements and standard reports.Strong knowledge of Customs product, compliance and the market.Strong business and commercial understanding.Ability to manage complexity.Understands global supply chain and the value of Customs Services.Expertise in Chemical, Technology, Lifestyle, Reefer and or Automotive would be an advantage.Maersk is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we embrace different styles of thinking.
