Minimum Requirements:
University degree in Engineering or similar.CAD/CAE tools specific training2 years of related experience with hands on operational knowledgePrevious experience as Product Engineer is a plusContinuous improvement mindsetExperience working in an organization that has a well-implementedSafety Culture is a plusAvailability to travel and give local support to customers and business units for small to medium periods (up to 6 months)
Knowledge and Skills Required:
High level of communication and teamwork skillsCAD skills (Catia V5 and NX preferred), PDM, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Reading, interpreting and defining technical drawings including GD&T definitionStrong analytical and problem solving skills using DMAIC process (define, measure, etc)Knowledge of development tools: APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), MSA (Measurement System Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), Value Stream Mapping) and RPPC (Ranking of Product / Process Characteristics)Strong technical knowledge of metal forming, pressing,shaping, joining, fastening, and machiningmethods.Languages: English fluent verbal and written mandatory
Responsibilities:
Evaluate the product specifications from the customer (geometry, tolerances, relations between components, mechanical stiffness, modal response and other specifications) and define the product architecture/BOM (number of components, materials, surface treatments other product related characteristics) to meet the requirements in terms of product response Perform product calculations including stiffness and modal analysis to verify the product definition and specifications Support the process cost estimation team to identify product change opportunities to meet the economical targets Make the product design (3d models and 2D drawings) including GD&T definition and simulation Participate on the application of quality tools (APQP process), specifically the product architecture definition product functional analysis and product FMEASupport Business Units requests on product related difficulties by providing local investigation and solutions Participate on the research of new product solutions and application of new materials and processes
