The MD Program is one of the largest undergraduate medical education programs in Canada with over 1,000 undergraduate medical students located on two campuses and an innovative and rigorous curriculum that educates undergraduate students through the application and communication of knowledge, collaboration and discovery. The Program includes the Enrolment Services, Office of Curriculum, Office of Assessment and Evaluation, Office of Faculty Development, and the Standardized Patient Program (SPP).
The Office of Curriculum supports the MD Program with all aspects of curriculum development and delivery across all four years of the Program. The Office provides expertise in curriculum planning and implementation as well as pedagogical practices and strategies in medical education; manages curriculum-focused events, committees, and working groups; supports visiting student electives within UofT, across Canada, and internationally; and oversees faculty development programming.
As Curriculum Expansion Projects Lead, you will be an integral member of the MD Program team within the Office of Curriculum. You will be integral to the planning, implementation and flawless execution of a variety of complex projects related to expanding undergraduate medical education delivery, especially as the program embarks on building a new campus (Scarborough Academy of Medicine). You will play an essential role engaging and communicating with key internal and external partners, managing multiple, time-sensitive priorities to advance curriculum delivery across three campuses in the greater Toronto area. Your extensive project management experience along with your ability to exercise solid critical thinking, analytical, collaborative and problem-solving skills will be key to your success in this role.
Your responsibilities will include: Develop components of programs and initiatives that advance program objectives.Planning and overseeing the implementation of new and/or revised business processes; Developing project schedules, including milestones, critical path, timelines, deliverables, and reporting.Conducting detailed labour market analysis to inform program and partnership development.Analyzing potential experiential learning opportunities to determine suitability with student academic learning objectives.Building partner networks with external agencies whose cooperation is important to the University.Developing and implementing targeted outreach activities.Directing the activities of a small group, including providing feedback on performance and directing workflow.Gathering information to inform budget planning processes.Essential Qualifications: Master's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum five years in a relevant role, including progressively responsible project management experience in a University, medical school, teaching hospital or comparable environment.Demonstrated experience with all aspects of process development and execution related to projects in an academic, healthcare or comparable environment.Demonstrated experience identifying experiential learning opportunities.Proficiency building strong networks with external agencies, including implementing target outreach activities.Strong experience supporting budget planning.In-depth knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, techniques, tools and best practices.Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, learning management systems and student information systems, with the flexibility, adaptability and desire to seek out, learn and embrace new and emerging technology.Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deliver on time-sensitive initiatives.Demonstrated initiative in seeing projects through to completion.Proven leadership, collaboration and motivational skills, including the ability to influence others towards a common goal.High degree of diplomacy and tact; professional demeanor.Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines using analytical and problem-solving capabilities.To be successful in this role you will be: Multi-tasker.Organized.Tactful.Team player.This is a term position of 2 years.
