Key Responsibilities include: Deliver on curatorial functions in relation to the collections of new media and photography, including regularly identifying works for acquisition and conservation Conducting research to ensure strategic knowledge generation outputs are met Communicate specialist research findings to the public through publications, exhibitions, popular articles, website and public programmes such as guided tours and panel discussions Preparing fundraising proposals and ensuring the stewardship of the relevant grant agreements Developing exhibition concepts, proposals and budgets in collaboration with other curators, exhibition designers and education team Contributing to site development strategy in consultation with relevant internal and external stakeholders Negotiate, handle and manage artworks for temporary and touring exhibitions, to and from other institutions, nationally and abroad, and acting as courier when required Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, fundraising and other related work in the gallery Submit reports on outputs and activities, as requested Flexibility to assist in other curatorial departments when required Mentor colleagues, interns, trainees and volunteers Advising on collections specific conservation requirements and ensuring that these are addressed in collaboration with the relevant Collections Manager/s Contributing proactively to education and public programmes as required Keep abreast of developments in research, theory, museology and related production.
