My client based in Westmead Durban is seeking to employ an Experienced Credit ControllerDuties & ResponsibilitiesAdministrationProfessional behaviour towards customers and colleaguesEnsure that all queries relating to requests for proof of delivery, goods returned, rebates or claims will be resolved within a reasonable timeframeLiaise with sales staff, regarding status of account and discuss overdue amounts which are not resolved and find a solution to prevent ageing of accountsSend out letters on overdue accountsMonthly debtor's reconciliationsDaily telephonic collections and recording of such action on systemDaily action of outstanding queriesProcessing daily receipting and ageing debtor's accounts correctlyDaily assistance to sales deskDaily invoicingMeet monthly collection targets and reduce number of days outstandingMinimize credit risksSubmit new applications online with ITC for credit assessmentsAttend debtors meetings and report on ageingAttend to monthly statements and close-off proceduresGeneralUndertakes such additional duties which may from time to time be assigned to the Employee in the discharge of his/her duties.Must ensure that a safe environment is maintained at all times by highlighting any problems to managementFollow the health and safety and the company's disciplinary process and its policiesTo ensure that a correct and proper image of the Company is maintained at all times.Desired Experience & QualificationEducation and ExperienceMatric or equivalent qualification or studying towards a commerce/sales/or administrative degree or diplomaAn equivalent of 2 years working experience in a debtor's positionAdvanced computer literacy skills in Microsoft applications – Word and ExcelExcellent planning and organisational skillsCompetencies required of the position include:Excellent numerical accuracyGood interpersonal, written, verbal and communication skillsSound interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work independently and show initiativeKnowledge and experience of financial practices would be advantageousSpecial requirementsRegular and on time attendanceWill be required to work overtime when requiredPackage & RemunerationR15 000pm to R18 000pm
