A financial services company operating close to the Somerset West area is seeking a Credit Risk Executive to oversee the credit risk management function across the organisation.As the Credit Risk Executive, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing credit risk policies, procedures, and models to align the company's credit exposure with its risk appetite and strategic goals. This role demands strategic leadership, advanced analytical skills, and excellent stakeholder management to effectively mitigate credit risk while fostering business growth.As the ideal candidate you will possess the ability to analyse data sets to identify factors correlated with credit risk outcomes and develop models to forecast consumer default likelihood, integrating these models into operational processes for improved credit risk outcomes. You will also determine risk-based product pricing to meet profitability targets and collaborate with the finance team to build insights into customer profitability segments. Key qualifications for the Credit Risk Executive :Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, or a related field (preferred)8-10 years' experience (minimum) in a similar role at a senior or executive levelStrong experience developing predictive models for forecasting probability of defaultKnowledge of provisioning approaches and calculationWillingness to travel within Africa at least once per quarter Key duties for the Credit Risk Executive include but are not limited to :Develop and implement the overall credit risk management strategy in line with the company's objectives and regulatory requirementsReview and refine credit risk policies, frameworks, and procedures to enhance risk management practices, optimise profitability, and drive financial successAnalyse complex data sets using SQL and other analytical tools to extract meaningful insights and identify trendsEnsure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies, adapting to regulatory changesLead and provide strategic direction to the credit risk management team, promoting a culture of risk awareness and continuous improvementOversee the assessment and analysis of credit risk exposures across all portfolios.Set risk-based pricing for financial products to achieve specified profitability targets.Collaborate with the finance team to generate detailed insights into customer profitability segments.Develop sophisticated credit risk models based on rigorous statistical analysis and machine learning techniques.Monitor and manage the credit portfolio, ensuring diversification and alignment with the risk appetite.Formulate and implement strategies for managing non-performing loans and distressed assets.Present credit risk reports and insights to the Board of Directors, Risk Committee, and other key stakeholders Key personal skills for the Credit Risk Executive :Strategic leadershipAnalytical expertiseTeam development and mentorshipAdaptability to regulatory changesIf you are passionate about credit risk management and have a strong background in developing predictive models, we encourage you to apply.Come join our global team of creative thinkers, problem solvers and game changers.
