Lesaka Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Risk Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in assessing and managing credit risk across the entire lifecycle of our unsecured loans portfolio, from origination to collections and provisions. You will monitor portfolio performance, create and maintain insightful dashboards, and produce comprehensive reports that effectively communicate the portfolio's health. Additionally, you will conduct in-depth analysis and leverage insights to support data-driven decisions related to credit strategies.

Responsibilities:
Support the development and implementation of credit strategies across the credit lifecycle for unsecured loans (small value, short- and medium-term).
Conduct thorough credit risk analysis across the lifecycle, providing insights and value-added monitoring of credit exposures, collections performance, and provisioning levels on both a monthly and ad hoc basis.
Monitor and assess the effectiveness of credit risk strategies to ensure alignment with risk appetite and compliance with credit policy.
Run the monthly impairment model and prepare related provisioning reports for stakeholder review.
Enhance reporting processes to identify trends and improve insights into portfolio performance (daily, monthly, and quarterly).
Build, optimize, and automate dashboards, including data extraction and transformation to provide a clear view of portfolio performance.
Investigate risk anomalies or irregularities in data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and insights.
Qualifications and Skills:
BCom Honours in Economics, Finance, or a related discipline, or a BSc in Statistics or Mathematics (Quantitative degree) or equivalent.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems and communicate findings clearly.
Proficiency in coding (SAS, SQL, Python, or similar) for data extraction and transformation.
Experience in dashboard building (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and report creation.
Familiarity with scorecard development and credit risk model building.
Strong skills in presentation development (PowerPoint) and presenting findings.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Credit Risk environment, with exposure to various aspects of the credit lifecycle, including customer management, collections strategy, and provisioning.
