Job detailsHere's how the job details align with your profile.PayR15000 - R20000 a monthJob typeFull-timeLocationDurbanFull job descriptionHere at ParkerSteel we have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, Credit Controller to join our busy Credit Control Team at our satellite office in Durban.You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, 40 hours per week between the hours of 09:00am and 20:00pm SA time, depending on Shift Pattern and time of year.
You will receive a competitive salary between R15,000 to R20,000 per month depending on qualifications and experience.Main Purpose of the JobThe Credit Controller will ensure that all amounts due are collected according to the agreed payment terms using the most efficient methods, whilst simultaneously managing customer credit risk and limit company exposure to bad debts.This candidate will need to be able to take instruction and work both independently, as well as part of a team.
They must have good interpersonal skills, including excellent communication and telephone manner.This role needs a motivated individual who can confidently and efficiently prioritise their workload with a strong attention to detail, work in a calm and systematic way, and liaise with other teams within the business.Roles and ResponsibilitiesReview sales orders referred to credit control to measure against credit limits and terms on account.Open new credit accounts for customers ensuring that the information provided is accurate and they are trading under the correct legal entity.
Ensuring the credit policy and procedures are adhered to.Monitor and review customer credit limits in line with the company credit policy and procedures.Log, manage and follow up on queried invoices.Accurately maintain the customer database ensuring credit limits reflect customers' trading history.Proactively manage the outstanding ledger sales balances before the month end close.Process and review Credit Card transactions ensuring all steps are taken to avoid any fraudulent activity.Liaise with Sales and Customer Service regarding accounts on stop and removal of services.Where required, escalate outstanding debts to ensure they are bought to a satisfactory conclusion.Ensure all communication with customers and other members of staff is accurately logged on the notes system.Allocate payments to the appropriate customer accounts.What we are looking forMinimum of 3+ years' experience within a Credit Control or Accounts Receivable teamBasic Microsoft Office understanding, particularly Excel & WordAvailable to start in the next 2 weeks.Benefits include:Progression opportunitiesAnnual Holiday allowance of 20If you have the requirements listed to become our Credit Controller, please apply today.
