A private equity-backed multinational business advisory firm, based in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to oversee client credit accounts, ensuring timely collection and minimizing exposure to bad debt.
As the Credit Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing and monitoring client credit accounts to ensure prompt payment collection and effective risk management. This role is key to the company's financial health and involves collaborating closely with internal teams and clients to maintain smooth financial operations. Success in this position will involve reducing overdue balances, ensuring efficient reconciliations, and contributing valuable insights into payment trends and credit risk assessments.
Key qualifications and experience for the Credit Controller:Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (preferred)Proven experience as a Credit Controller, Debt Collector, or in a similar roleStrong knowledge of credit management and collection proceduresProficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly ExcelKey duties for the Credit Controller include but are not limited to:Monitor outstanding balances and promptly collect overdue paymentsConduct credit checks on new clients and set appropriate credit limitsChase overdue debts and negotiate payment terms with clients facing difficultiesReconcile customer accounts, addressing discrepancies and queriesPrepare regular reports on cash flow, overdue accounts, and bad debtsEnsure compliance with credit policies and legal regulationsCredit Control management, debt collection, account reconciliation, reporting, compliance, and collaborating with internal teamsKey personal skills for the successful Credit Controller:Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to work under pressure and handle difficult conversationsStrong organisational and time management skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamCustomer-focused with a dedication to maintaining positive relationshipsIf you are passionate about credit control management and possess strong experience in debt collections, please reach out for a further conversation.
