Job ResponsibilitiesUnpack and critically think about the risk of new and existing debt and equity deals for clients across a broad range of geographies and industries.Engage with clients and interrogate their business models to identify risks.Assess financial data provided by clients.Build financial models to forecast performance or assess models provided by clients or their advisors for accuracy and appropriateness.Work alongside the deal team to structure deals in line with the bank's risk philosophy.Assess and manage overall limits for clients in line with the bank's risk framework.Put forward deals for recommendation after objectively assessing all the facts.Prepare and present risk assessments to risk executives in committee sittings.Take ownership of applications, requiring strong report writing skills.Manage timelines of deals in line with agreed-upon submission deadlines.Present deals at committee meetings and collaborate with deal teams to address questions and negotiate outcomes.Build and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders, adapting communication styles to meet different audience needs.Manage conflicts effectively.Key CharacteristicsStrong work ethic with a self-starter attitude and a keenness to take ownership of the role's opportunities and personal development.Resilience and openness to receiving and sharing feedback.Ability to handle stress well, including self-management of workload, quick adaptation to deal changes, prioritization of deals, and open communication on capacity.Qualifications & ExperienceIdeally CA (SA) or CFA with relevant credit analyst experience within Investment Banking, although a newly qualified CA (SA) or a graduate with a strong quantitative focus will be considered, provided that the graduate has had exposure to finance and/or accounting.Application Closing Date13/09/24
