Job Description
Job Purpose
With an estimated head count of 350 people in 2024, Africa is a major growth region for SLR. We are looking for a creative lead to help ensure the region's creative output can come up to the same level as its global counterparts.
We are looking for a mid-career creative, who can think strategically about how to amplify creative output and marketing initiatives in Africa, as well as bring added design excellence to the global team.
This role will plan and execute creative initiatives for SLR Africa, as well as support global creative projects in collaboration with SLR's Marketing & Communications Director and APAC Head of Marketing, who takes on a part-time global creative lead role for the business. This person will also support SLR Africa's Marketing Manager with their day-to-day design requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities Develop and execute creative initiatives for SLR Africa Work on global creative projects in collaboration with SLR's Marketing and Comms Director Execute design requests from SLR's Africa Marketing Manager for day-to-day requirements. Collaborate with Africa's Managing Director and Marketing Manager on how to amplify brand awareness using creative approaches to marketing in the region. Self-directed and proactive in seeking out work or opportunities to assist the region and technical consultants. Make recommended changes to Africa's design approach that optimises brand value and ensures quality is aligned to what is being globally produced. Work as a brand custodian alongside Regional Marketing Manager. Work collaboratively with SLR's global design team to collaborate on strategic approach to creative initiatives – ensuring Africa's output becomes better aligned with the other regions. Skills & Qualifications Ideally, 6-10 years' experience coupled with relevant industry qualification (or equivalent on the job training). Expert level graphic design skills across full Adobe Creative Suite. Understanding of video editing and animation tools. Details focused. Commercially aware – completing tasks within specified times and budget. Good communication skills. Ability to work directly with our internal clients to understand objectives, scope and design requirements. Previous experience within a consulting environment would be beneficial.
