The Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology is one of the largest departments of its kind in North America, with internationally renowned and award-winning faculty. Under general supervision of the Undergraduate Administrator and direction from the Academic Course Coordinator, the incumbent provides administrative and coordination support to core, large undergraduate courses within the department in Winter and Summer sessions.
You will support the undergraduate programs by working closely with other Course Administrators in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will collaborate closely with other members of the EEB Department to ensure that courses, students, and faculty are well informed and supported.
Your responsibilities will include: Providing detailed information to students on course requirementsCalculating student grades using excel based formulasWriting routine documents and correspondenceDetermining logistical details and activities for eventsLiaising with stakeholders to coordinate space and resource requirementsCollating and organizing data for various reportsEssential Qualifications: Advanced College Diploma (3 years) in Biological Sciences or Sciences or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum two years' recent and related experience with educational course coordination, preferably in an academic environment.Experience providing detailed explanations regarding academic programs and course information to students.Experience interpreting and applying guidelines and procedures.Experience working with ROSI (Repository of Student Information) or similar University Student Information System.Experience using scanning software for scantron and survey analysis.Experience conducting data analysis, compiling data, and preparing and presenting reports.Experience with handling expenses for events.Demonstrated advance skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Demonstrated advance skills using Excel to manipulate data and perform calculation and statistical functions.Demonstrated advance skills with Quercus or similar system learning management systems.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Excellent organizational, multitasking and administrative skills.Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.Excellent team work skills.Assets (Nonessential): Knowledge of EEB coursesBachelor's Degree in biologyTo be successful in this role you will be: AdaptableDiplomaticMeticulousMulti-taskerProactivePlease note: This is a term position from December 2024 - June 2025.A copy of the detailed job description is available upon request from the Faculty of Arts and Science HR office by emailing: ******.Closing Date: 10/29/2024, 11:59PM ET
