The Bank's development agenda is delivering the financial and technical support for transformative projects that will significantly reduce poverty through inclusive and sustainable economic growth.THE POSITION:Senior Country Economists work under the supervision of the Division Managers in the Country Economics Department and the Lead Economists for the region, focusing on macroeconomic and economic development work to deepen country knowledge and strengthen the Bank's policy dialogues.KEY FUNCTIONS:Analyse the economic and financial situations of assigned Regional Member Countries and determine the implications for the programming and updating of Bank Group operations.Contribute to the preparation and dissemination of the Bank's flagship publications.Support the Business Delivery Units in dialogue with National Authorities and other stakeholders.Undertake assigned Economic and Sector Work, focusing on governance profiling and relevant economic issues.Identify, prepare, evaluate, and monitor the implementation of economic programmes.Coordinate the preparation of Country Strategy Papers.Maintain effective communication with sector departments and participate in review meetings.Participate in Country Portfolio Reviews.Participate in the preparation and monitoring of budget support loans.Participate in aid coordination activities with donors.Undertake Country Policy and Institutional Assessment.Participate in the preparation of Country Fragility and Resilience Assessment.Participate in the preparation of ECCE Divisions' budget and knowledge work programme.Develop and build client relations at all levels.COMPETENCIES (skills, experience, and knowledge):Hold at least a Master's degree in Economics or related disciplines.Have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in macroeconomic policy analysis and management.Strong planning and organizational skills.Capacity to connect, understand, and influence stakeholders.Ability to handle high-level demands of a complex organization.Good grasp of developing countries issues.Solid technical and quantitative skills as a macroeconomist.Proven experience in economic modelling and forecasting.Competence in econometric software for empirical analysis.Very good knowledge of portfolio management.Strong experience in policy dialogue and fragility assessment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with a good working knowledge of French.Competence in Microsoft Office Suite applications.THIS POSITION IS CLASSIFIED AS INTERNATIONAL RECRUITMENT AND ATTRACTS INTERNATIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT.Applicants who fully meet the Bank's requirements and are considered for further assessment will be contacted.
