Counter Sales Assistant (Steel)

A busy steel and hardware distributor is looking to employ an energetic and outgoing person to assist customers with their selections.
ResponsibilitiesGreet customers and assist with all inquiries.Answer incoming calls and convert inquiries into sales.Assist with products and solutions for sale and sourcing stock (standard and non-standard).Process customer orders and expedite deliveries/collection instructions.Provide quotations to clients via Syspro.Maintain daily upkeep of backorders and release stock for clients.Advise customers on stock availability and lead times.Develop new sales opportunities through cold calls to potential clients.Keep abreast of the latest product trends/developments to provide the best advice to clients.Understand how different products work.Ensure respective sales and GP targets are achieved monthly.Provide after-sales follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction.Liaise with the warehouse manager regarding deliveries.Liaise with external sales staff on customer visits as required.Provide leads to external staff.Qualifications2 years' experience selling steel and industrial hardware products is essential and not negotiable.
