A dynamic South African NGO is looking for a dedicated and experienced Cottages Manager to oversee the daily operations of a cozy Bed & Breakfast and conferencing facility. The Cottages Manager will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, managing a small team, and driving financial success through effective budgeting, marketing, and operational oversight. If you have a passion for hospitality, a knack for seamless operations, and the ability to foster a welcoming environment, this role offers a perfect blend of hands-on management and strategic planning.
Minimum Requirements: Degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field preferred Proven experience as a Hotel Manager or relevant role Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospitality, ideally in small hotels, inns, or B&Bs Strong understanding of hotel management best practices Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Friendly and welcoming demeanor Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and work under pressure Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and irregular hours as required Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and financial management Proficiency in marketing and sales, with strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills Duties and Responsibilities: Manage reservations, cancellations, and guest inquiries Ensure guest satisfaction through high-quality service, room maintenance, and meal oversight Implement hotel policies and ensure compliance with relevant laws Supervise and schedule staff, including housekeeping, kitchen, maintenance, and casual personnel Conduct regular staff meetings and provide performance feedback Develop and manage budgets, control costs, and maximize revenue Supervise invoicing and financial record-keeping Manage inventory and order supplies as needed Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract guests, including online and offline promotions Build relationships with local businesses and tourism agencies to increase bookings Monitor guest reviews and feedback on various platforms, addressing issues and enhancing the guest experience Oversee maintenance and repair of the B&B to ensure the property is in excellent condition Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations
