The Cost Manager has experience across the whole range of Quantity Surveyors (QS) professional services and thus is able to accurately report on the cost and commercial aspects of multiple projects being planned and executed concurrently.
In collaboration with the Senior Commercial Manager, the Cost Manager is responsible for quantitative analysis of projects varying in nature, size, and value. Involvement will be from planning through the project inception, execution, and completion stages up to and including aftercare and maintenance.
The incumbent will work closely with external professional team members consisting of Engineers, Architects, Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, etc.
Key Performance Area
Data Centre Project Cost Management

Support the Senior Commercial Manager with the preparation of ADC cost reports and tracking of actual spend vs approved cost plan.
Support the Senior Commercial Manager with cash flow planning, approval, and management.
Responsible for reporting on data centre project cost management during all project stages; from inception to completion across various facilities and regions.
Participates in the management and oversight of value engineering and cost/risk optimisation exercises.

Project Invoices Management

Responsible for recording all invoices received in a project payment summary.
Ensure that the Finance team is reporting the same invoices as the Project team.
Responsible for tracking invoices against each purchase order and ensuring that invoice values never exceed PO values.

Commercial Management

Provide input to the Senior Commercial Manager and Senior Project Manager(s) with the development of suitable procurement and commercial strategies.
Responsible for reviewing the cost and commercial tender adjudications prepared by the professional services teams and preparing commercial reports for review by the Senior Commercial Manager.
Establish and maintain effective communications internally with the business managers, financial, legal, and procurement departments.



Formal Qualifications Required

BTech Quantity Surveying Diploma

Job Related Experience Required

Minimum 3 years' experience with cost planning and value engineering.
Minimum 3 years' experience with procurement of suppliers, consultants, and contractors.
Minimum 3 years' experience with project cost and commercial management.

Job Related Knowledge Required

Knowledge of the standard quantity surveying services across all project states and the application thereof.
Knowledge of the available standard forms of contracts for consultants and contractors and the application thereof.
Knowledge of cost planning, estimating, and benchmarking systems and the application thereof.
In-depth knowledge of multi-project cost management and reporting systems and the application thereof.
