Financial & Cost Control Specialist in Mining
LOCATION: Germiston
SALARY AND BENEFITS: R35 000 – R50 000 p/m CTC depending on experience
DESCRIPTION / SYNOPSIS:
We have an exciting opportunity available for a Cost Accountant at a subsidiary of a leading manufacturing group, specializing in the mining industry. This position is critical for driving cost management and financial efficiency across the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial and cost accounting duties, working closely with the Finance Manager to ensure effective budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

BCom Degree in Accounting
Completed SAICA/SAIPA Articles (Essential)
Experience in cost accounting within the mining or manufacturing industries
Strong knowledge of financial and cost control processes
Experience using Syspro ERP System would be ideal
Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills
Proficiency in financial reporting, budget management, and cost analysis
Advanced knowledge of accounting software and MS Excel
Strong communication skills and ability to present financial insights

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Budget Monitoring: Oversee and track operational budgets to ensure company activities align with business objectives.
Cost Management: Manage and control company costs by monitoring budgets and financial conditions to ensure all expenses are properly registered and reported.
Evaluate project costs to ensure effectiveness and alignment with the company's business goals.
Financial Reporting: Prepare periodic financial reports to keep the board updated on project progress and financial performance.
Provide economic analysis and cost insights to support informed decision-making.
Contract Review: Review agreements for various projects to ensure compliance with financial policies and alignment with the company's objectives.
